OUR TEAM
Jill’s love of cooking began in her early twenties when living and working in London, exposing her to diverse cultures and cuisines. After settling in the village of Sunninghill with her husband and raising their three boys, she began teaching cooking classes, first using family recipes, then creating her own as her confidence grew.
In the early 2000s, she moved back to the United States, where she continued teaching and raising money for nonprofits. When her oldest son developed cystic acne, she explored the connection between food and health and created a low-sugar, nutrient-rich cookie called Jill’s Hills. That journey led to the launch of Sunninghill Jill Baking Company and, more importantly, improved her son’s health. A few years later, her middle son was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, deepening her commitment to nutrition and healing through food.
In an effort to share her story and encourage others to improve health through clean eating and cooking, Jill published a cookbook called Starting Fresh! in 2013; donating all proceeds to Boston Children’s hospital where her son received treatment. After founding Sunninghill Jill Kids in 2017, Jill continued to encourage and promote the benefits of clean eating. She had a regular segment on NBC’s Charlotte Today, and shared recipes in monthly issues of Lake Norman Currents.
Jill believes in the power of connections and community; one act of kindness will create a ripple effect extending into the community – inspiring hope and transforming lives for the better.
