SunningHill Jill Kids was created to provide as many 'BEST DAYS OF THEIR LIVES' as possible for kids undergoing treatment for cancer or a chronic blood disease.

SunningHill Jill Kids was founded by Jill Dahan in 2017 to help children and young adults diagnosed with cancer or a chronic blood disease. 

It all started when Jill’s then 15-year-old son, who was recovering in the hospital after undergoing his second major operation for a rare form of kidney cancer, was gifted an iPad by some neighborhood friends.  Jill will never forget his words that day – “This is the best day of my life!”  The heartfelt thoughtfulness at a crucially difficult time for Jill and her family, who were still coming to terms with the ‘out of the blue’ diagnosis, ignited Jill’s passion to help other local families facing similar challenges. 

Initially, SHJK’s support began with gifts of iPads and family support bags but soon expanded to provide critical funds and other financial and emotional support to families.  SHJK is proud to have been honored by the Levine Children’s Cancer & Blood Disorders Clinic as one of the top organizations that they reach out to on a daily basis year after year.  

SHJK’s support comes from creative fundraisers inspired by Jill’s passion for sharing simple and nourishing recipes, as well as from corporate sponsors and individual donors.  This support allows  SHJK to achieve its mission: to provide critical assistance and uplifting gifts to patients and their families undergoing treatment at Levine Children’s Cancer & Blood Disorders Clinic in Charlotte, NC. 

We are a 100% volunteer organization, allowing over 98% of donation proceeds to go directly to families in need.
